Some News...and Technical Difficulties

You may, or may not have noticed, but this site was unreachable for a couple of hours tonight. It was all thanks to me, playing around with some settings on GoDaddy.com.

It was for good reason however.

I have set up Gooogle Apps for our domain. I have set up an email account, and thus far, the only one to have done so.

If you would like an @cicerofam.com email address, please just let me know and I will take care of it for you. (Subject to approval. I'm not giving them to just anybody.) Included with your new email account (hosted by Google) will be a calendar, a personalized start page, and access to Google Docs: a word processor, a spreadsheet, and a presentation application that is compatible with the Microsoft Office suite. You will also have access to your very own GTalk account, if you are one to use the GTalk system to chat. (If you don't, please don't feel bad, as I have one and I don't use it.)

You can preview the Start page by going to http://start.cicerofam.com Now I know the colors are a bit ugly, but I'm going to be work on it.

Just shoot me a message at paul||at||cicerofam.com and I will hook you up.

New Pictures Up

I spend a good hour this morning uploading all the photos from the camera and my phone. I didn't realize we still had Christmas pictures that we had never transfered.

I will post some pictures and links later when I have more time, but if you would like a preview, please click here.

Laptop is as Good as New

This past Tuesday, the replacement LCD screen for the laptop arrived. I was able to install it without any problems by 9:30 that night.

It looks very good. Can't even tell the difference. And the best part: No leftover screws!

It's always good to do something right every now and again!

...Accident

Well, Wednesday night, I was a little clumsy.

I was cruising the web on the laptop when the phone rang. I got up to answer the phone, but when I sat back down on the couch, the laptop took a swan dive off of the couch.

Needless to say, the LCD screen is broken in two different places with liquid scattered all over the screen.

It is not very pretty...and will be fairly costly to repair. Luckily, Dell had a refurbished LCD monitor for under $160.

It's a shame too, because we have a bunch of pictures to put up on Flickr. Michelle and Cole came over this afternoon for a play date. The boys had a lot of fun and we got a lot of pictures.

Those pictures will now probably have to wait until the middle of next week, as I really do not feel like going through the trouble of setting up our desktop PC to do all of that work. I will have to install about 3 different programs, and by the time I have things the way that we use things, I'll have the laptop repaired.

...and the disgusting thing is that I know better than to set the laptop down on the arm of the couch, especially since there is a table right there! Man I am still disappointed in myself.

Until next time: Go Mammoth!

It's Februrary 1st...

..and do you know what happens in 13 days?

Pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training!

That's right, the 2008 baseball season is right around the corner and I cannot wait for things to get going!

Perhaps it was the Rockies' incredible World Series run last fall, or Brenden's love for the game, but I have a new found excitement for all things baseball. I've already started my research into players for my fantasy baseball teams.

Plus, as an added bonus, the Daytona 500 runs it's 50th race in 2 weeks!

Throw in the added excitement of the NCAA mens basketball and all the conference championships and I finally have something to watch on television other than having to wait to see the Colorado Mammoth play.

Ohhh, it's only getting better from here!
