Back on Mac

100_0303

My wonderful wife, with every bit of regret, kept her word.

Last November we made a pact: If I found a new, higher paying job, I could get a MacBook.

Come December, I started my new position at The Sports Authority and the rest is history.

Marta kept her part of the bargain and purchased my new, wonderful MacBook from Amazon.com about two weeks ago.

It took me the better part of a day, but I'm back in the swing things. Marta has even used it a couple of times, albeit complaining the entire time about the differences between her Vista laptop and the OS X Leopard features.

For those of you who didn't know: I grew up using Apple computers. All the way back in elementary school, learning how to program Basic on Apple IIe to using the Macintosh when they first came out in middle school all the way through high school. I honestly did not touch or even see a Microsoft Windows computer until about my sophomore year in high school, and even then only played the occasional computer game on it. (Ah, that famous "Doom" game. Anybody remember that? Wow, that was a long time ago!)

New Car....New Experiences

Last week, we finally bought our brand new Honda Civic.

We had been looking at new cars for the better part of 2 months and then in the middle of February, we finally both agreed upon a 2008 Silver Honda Civic EX-L (without the navigation package.) Needless to say, there was no such car in the four-state radius. While weighing our options, Ben the awesome salesman at Ralph Schomp Honda here in Littleton did a quick search and found that the Honda factory was making ONE silver Civic without navigation. He quickly tagged it with our name and 3 weeks later, we got our car!

Also, Brenden started soccer practice this past week. He was very excited when we went to buy his uniform and equipment.

At practice, he was a little shy about the other kids, but quickly warmed up when they started playing. He absolutely loves it, as do we. It is very entertaining watching kids at that age play soccer. I can only describe it as a free-for-all with rules.

As always, you can go over to our Flickr page to see these photos, and many more that were uploaded tonight.

Brenden Lands a Soccer Team

(AP) Littleton, CO - March 5, 2008 - The Douglas County pee wee soccer league today announced that Brenden has been signed on with the Highlands Ranch team for the Spring 2008 season. Upon hearing the news, the very excited ThunderRidge Preschool student was quoted as saying, "I'm going to play soccer and kick that ball in the goal!"
The Highlands Ranch team will hold it's first practice of the season on March 20. They will then put their skills to the test in a very fast turnaround, as they will open the season two days later on March 22.
