As some of you may have noticed, I have not yet renewed my "Pro" account with Flickr. I was originally going to ask for the $25 for Christmas and then renew, but there are a lot of rumors going around that with Yahoo!'s current financial status, that Flickr may fold. (Flickr is owned by Yahoo! Inc.)
I currently playing a waiting game to see what happens. I am also shopping around for alternative sites with a very similar layout and similar tools that I have grown accustomed to by using Flickr.
I may bite the bullet and use Picasa (Google) although I don't really agree with the amount of storage space they give you. (When you sign up, you get 1 MB TOTAL for your pictures, for free.) Google does offer upgrades, however, for $20 I would be capped at 10 MB of storage. For $25, I was getting unlimited with Flickr. After the $20 option, the price then jumps to $75, and you only get 40 MB of storage space. (You can start to see just how much of a value Flickr is.)
If anybody has any suggestions, I would love to hear them.
By the way, if anybody is keeping track, we have had 21" of snow in the last 3 weeks.
